Darlene “Darr” Kay Cigel
Darr was born in Birnamwood, WI to Leona and Carl Krubsack on July 29, 1937. She graduated from Birnamwood High School and attended UW Stevens Point. Darr met the love of her life, Les, and soon after, married at Temple Beth El in Madison on April 21, 1968. Those who knew her best remember her singing, shopping, gardening, visiting friends and family, and cheering at baseball games from her car along the left field line. Darr loved being involved in choir and later supporting the arts. When she wasn’t busy doting over her two sons or her beloved cats, Darr enjoyed her days working at Employers of Wausau, All-Car Automotive and AC Liquidators. She was instrumental in the growth of All-Car, even serving as Secretary Treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Eli and Jean Cigel; and her granddaughter, Sarah Kay Cigel.
Darr is survived by her husband, Les Cigel, and her sons, Craig (Monica) of WI Dells and Shane (Colleen) of Mequon. Further survived by two adoring granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rosemary; as well as Harriet and Arnold Weiss; Jerry and Darlene Cigel; nieces, Shelly (Carl) Wiedenhoeft and Debra (Bob) Zwiefelhofer; nephews, Bryan (Jena) Cigel and Dan (Kristy) Weiss; and other loving family and friends.
