Mollie received her Bachelor of Science degree in music from the University of Wisconsin. She taught piano until she returned to the university, earning a degree as a Medical Technologist. Upon graduation she worked at the Madison University General Hospital and Infirmary where she met Dr. Milton Finn. In 1939 they married at the Loraine Hotel in Madison with over 1,000 guests in attendance. They moved to Superior, WI and raised their three children.
Molly was very active in various organizations and was elected president of: Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, Beth El Ner Tamid Sisterhood, and Superior Medical Auxiliary. She also served on the board of the Wisconsin State Medical Society. She was also asked to serve on the board when the first medical clinic (in Superior) was being built, using her useful suggestions.
Mollie enjoyed many leisure activities, especially Mahjong and Bridge which were her favorites. She continued to play bridge until her death. She was an avid reader and liked to do crossword puzzles, knit, embroider and do needlepoint. She also loved playing the piano, golfing and enjoyed watching her favorite football teams, the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers and seldom missed a game.
She remained in Superior for 40 years, until Dr. Finn passed away, then moved to Hallandale, FL. In Florida she served on the board of the Hallandale Jewish Center Synagogue Sisterhood. She lived in Hallandale for 25 years until ill health forced her to move to Laurel Oaks in Glendale, WI to be near her sisters.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and sincere thanks to Dr. Kenneth Phillips for his devotion, love, and care extended to our dear mother. The close warm bond of friendship they formed meant so much to her. Also, our sincere thanks to Jenny Leslie, formerly of the staff of Laurel Oaks, for her thoughtfulness, kindness and love for Mollie. It is appreciated by her family.
